A woman decomposing body was found in Rivers State.
The body of a woman in her mid 30s was, on Wednesday, discovered on Aggrey Road, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, wrapped in a black nylon and dumped by the roadside.
It was learnt that her assailants surreptitiously dumped her decomposing body, which was suspected to have been bated with acid, judging from the manner in which the skin was peeling off.
Residents of the area, who were disturbed by the stench oozing from the strange luggage, tore open the wrappings and discovered the decomposing body.
An eyewitness, who claimed that the deceased had been missing from her residence since Sunday, adding that she was from Benue State and a mother of four children.

She said, “I don’t know her name, but she was from Benue State and had four children. She had been missing for four days now.

“The body of the woman was wrapped in black nylon and dropped near the junction on Wednesday evening; it was the odour of her decomposing body that attracted passers-by, who tore open the wrappings and discovered the body with her skin already peeled off as if acid was poured on her".
The spokesman for the Rivers State Police Command, Nnamdi Omoni, confirmed the incident.

He stated that the police had evacuated the corpse to the mortuary and an investigation had been ordered by the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mustapha Dandaura.
